Each grade will have a VINCENTIAN SAINT as their model during the school year. Students will learn about special Vincentian Saints throughout their years at St. Vincent School.
Goal:
Every student will grow in knowledge of their classroom Vincentian Saint each year/grade level. Upon reaching 8th grade, students would have learned about the most important Vincentian Saints that depict our school’s Vincentian Charism.

TK & KINDERGARTEN – St. Vincent de Paul, founder of the Vincentian priests in 1625 & the Daughters of Charity in 1633.
Feast day: September 27th
1st Grade – St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, American foundress of the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1804.
Feast day: January 4th
2nd Grade – St. Catherine Laboure, Daughter of Charity, to whom the Blessed Mother appeared and asked that the Miraculous Medal be made and worn by all.
Feast day: November 28th
3rd Grade – Blessed Rosalie Rendu, Daughter of Charity, who served the poor people in the same neighborhood of Paris for over 50 years. She inspired Frederick Ozanam to begin the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

4th Grade – Blessed Frederick Ozanam, began the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was a scholar, teacher, philosopher, husband, father, and servant to the Poor of Paris.

5th Grade – St. Louise de Marillac, foundress of the Daughters of Charity in Paris in 1633.

6th Grade – St. Justin de Jacobis, Vincentian priest and bishop in Ethiopia.
Feast day: July 30th
7th Grade – St. John Gabriel Perboyre, Vincentian priest, martyred in China in 1848. His life, suffering, and death mirrors that of Jesus Himself.

8th Grade –The Founders: St. Vincent de Paul, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Louise de Marillac.
As their last school year at St. Vincent School students will focus on all the Vincentian Saints that they have learned throughout their school years at SVS and design a service project that brings all the Vincentian Saints together with the SLEs.
