St. Vincent Athletics would like to welcome you all to the 2021-2022 school year. My name is Mr. Alcaraz, and I am the new P.E./Health teacher and Athletic Director. I have served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as a Junior High teacher at both Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Montebello and St. Louise de Marillac School in Covina for ten years. I studied at California State University, Fullerton, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. I also earned a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University. I have a beautiful family of four: Stefanie (Wife), Mason (Son), and Zoey (Daughter). Aside from being a teacher, my hobbies are: spending time with my family, golf, sports, and traveling. In addition to my hobbies, I have been a varsity baseball coach with four years’ experience. I am very fortunate to be part of the St. Vincent community and look forward to an incredible year.
Athletics play a very important role in our student’s lives. Valuable life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, and work ethic are displayed in our student athletes. We encourage proper sportsmanship to be showcased from our teams and student athletes. Students that participate in athletics must have at least a 2.0 grade point average in all of the subjects while they play on any team. Bi-weekly grade checks will take place. Student-athletes must show excellent behavior in order to participate and represent St. Vincent School.
For most of the sports, the sports fee will range from $40.00-$50.00. Track and Soccer sports fees will be determined. All sports fees are non-refundable. Participating in multiple sports will require additional sport fees. Sports fees help to assist the cost of tournaments, equipment, referee fees and awards. You can make this payment in the finance office here located at the school. Sports fees must be paid in a timely fashion before or at the start of the sport’s season. Donations are always accepted and greatly appreciated for parent service hours. Donation items such as: bottled water (small sizes), sporting equipment and sport water bottles package (by mueller company) are welcomed.
Sports that St. Vincent participates in are:
Lastly, we encourage everyone to support our student athletes in a very positive and cheerful manner.
Respectfully,
Mr. Alcaraz (Coach A.)
