  • St. Vincent School is a Catholic elementary school located near Downtown Los Angeles. Our school community includes children in Transitional Kindergarten through children in 8th grade. Sponsored by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, we are steeped in the Vincentian charism of service, and we serve families regardless of income. Eighty-nine percent (89%) of St. Vincent students qualify for free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program.

In the spirit of the Daughters of Charity and the founders of our Vincentian charism, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, we guide our students to be "Vincentian-Spirited Catholics" whose lives are grounded in prayer and service, and who develop the Christian values of generosity, compassion, and justice.

Our mission to form students in the Catholic faith and to educate them in a complete academic program, within a nurturing, safe and disciplined environment draws strength from our Catholic, Vincentian foundation; our dedicated faculty and staff; our comprehensive curriculum; our extra-curricular activities; and our student and family support services.

Since 1911, when the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (our school's first administrators) opened the doors of St. Vincent School, we have constantly endeavored to nurture faith, honor abilities, and encourage uniqueness among our children. We support our school parents - who are the primary educators of their children - and our parents support us. United, we are committed to serving the whole child: body, mind, and spirit.

The St. Vincent School family constantly strives to develop as a learning, loving, and worshipping community. Together, we work to foster an environment that enables and motivates our children to reach their greatest potential as active members of our Church and society.
